Main duties of the job
Are you looking for a new and exciting opportunity? We are seeking self-motivated and driven individuals to join the Medicines Safety Team. This is a permanent position for a nurse and a pharmacy technician.
You will work with the medicines safety team to enhance patient safety, aiming to reduce medication errors and improve safety for patients. Your role involves developing expertise in medicines safety, identifying risks, analyzing incidents, and implementing safety measures. You will also be involved in training others, staying updated on safety standards, and making practical improvements to healthcare practices. The role offers opportunities for professional development and leadership.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
The pharmacy technician may be expected to work regular late nights on a pro-rata basis. The nurse will have an allocated professional lead.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential Criteria
* NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science, or equivalent; Technician registered with GPhC, or Registered nurse/practitioner on relevant part of the NMC/HCPC register
* Additional specialist pharmacy qualifications such as recognized accuracy checking qualification, medicines management qualification, TAQA assessor, or equivalent teaching/training qualification; CIPS level 4 Foundation management or demonstrable experience in operational management of staff and workload; or Post registration qualification within the area of specialty, including completion of all Band 5 (preceptorship) competencies
* Extensive post-registration experience with consolidated learning
* Experience in staff management, operational workload, and workforce supervision
* Recruitment and selection experience
* Competence in the accurate supply or administration of medicines
* Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development
* Experience in dealing with and resolving patient/consumer complaints
Desirable Criteria
* Experience leading a team
* Additional relevant qualifications such as TAQA assessor, CIPS level 4 management, or service improvement qualifications
* Awareness of current professional regulations and issues
* Experience with CMM/Metavision or similar systems
* Experience in service development, audits, logistics, clinical trials, aseptic services, or change management
* Mentoring, coaching, or motivating others
* Experience with ESR and E-rostering systems
