Snr Electrical Authorised Field Eng Role Context: The Senior Electrical Authorised Field Engineer will be required to provide Field Engineering services at the Anglo American, Woodsmith Mine, Whitby site. The job role will consist of being the Electrical technical focal point on site in terms of Electrical maintenance, operations, safety and compliance. You'll be: Ensuring required technical standards and compliance are met. Accountable for ensuring compliance to relevant codes and standards. Holds Technical Authority status for Electrical Engineering, ensuring relevant skills and competence exists within the team to ensure compliance with standards and to support delivery. Acts as focal point within discipline for regulator's audits and visits. Assesses and manages discipline specific risks to ensure the business is not exposed to unacceptable or unmitigated risk. Assuring adherence to standards within discipline and resolving any deviations to ensure technical risks are managed. Set company standards, codes of practices and technical policies/procedures in line with industry best practices ensuring that they are up to date within review period. Defines and sets competence levels and standards for all roles within discipline. Sets audit programs and carries out audits to ensure teams are trained and meet the required level. Monitors & audits activities. Reviews technical bid packages for service contacts, ensures commercial aspects link with technical requirements. Audits service contracts to ensure compliance to contract. Audits all management framework procedures to manage major accident hazards, people, legislative, operational, plant, environmental & financial risk to ensure that they are compliant within discipline. Works with the projects delivery team to specify, design and manage the optimum technical solution in line with business planning guidance. Analysis of Safety, Operational, Financial, Environmental, Legal, Reputation & Plant risk. Provide direct support activities as required. You'll have: Demonstrate extensive experience at a senior level of electrical design & engineering. Held the Responsible Electrical Engineer role previously, or substantial Senior Authorised Person experience EAWR 1989 comprehensive understanding of legal requirements Commercial Acumen e.g. ability to balance design, customer and commercial outcomes to decisions and coaches others to build capability in the function. Demonstrates commitment to CPD, external networking and is a thought leader. Able to perform technically at Principal Engineer level. Essential: A Masters Degree in a relevant technical discipline or an honours degree and significant relevant experience. Chartered Engineer status Relevant site and management experience in the Engineering Construction Industry Ability to communicate effectively with the Stakeholders involved in the Project both verbally & in writing. Methodical work ethic; ensuring consistency in output. Capable of working independently Fully conversant with Project Management Systems with extensive knowledge of site field engineering/ Construction/Commissioning practices and procedures Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Analytical and problem-solving skills Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals Desirable: A strong communication, networking, collaboration and well-developed team-working skills, especially in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams A full knowledge of project specific execution strategies, and the ability to develop them to meet challenging project objectives and deliverables An 'Incident Free' mind-set, and be a role model for their project team (Direct/Indirect hires) A full understanding of how all elements of the project scope integrate and interface with each other and are managed to successfully deliver the right project outcome - from construction, and through to commissioning and handover to operations Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills, being able to work with the various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interests of the integrated project team Moving Forward: We want our people to be energized and empowered to drive sustainable impact.
