Wage Category: Annual Salary with Benefits
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for full cycle accounting duties that include customer billing and vendor invoicing, month-end accrual & adjusting entries, GL account reconciliation, fixed assets continuity schedule, bank reconciliation, and month-end foreign currency revaluation.
2. Reconcile month-end inventory sub-ledger with GL; analyze inventory valuation, PPV, and investigate any unusual transactions; monitor inventory aging and follow up on obsolete inventory with the sales team.
3. Review inter-company transactions with related companies, resolve any variances and discrepancies.
4. Assist with the preparation of monthly management reporting packages; perform preliminary reviews on financial statements, investigate exceptional situations, and resolve issues; analyze and compare financial results to historical data and budget targets.
5. Participate in year-end closing, prepare external audit schedules, and respond to queries from external auditors.
6. Ensure HST/GST filing and remittance are completed monthly.
7. Support annual corporate tax filing schedules, provide information to external tax consultants, and ensure transactions and reporting comply with tax requirements.
8. Prepare annual budgets and projections based on actual data and business assumptions.
9. Conduct various analyses as assigned.
10. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
1. Completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
2. Accounting designation is preferred but not required.
3. Minimum 5 years of experience in general accounting.
4. SAP experience is preferred.
5. Manufacturing and costing experience are preferred.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Knowledge of Mandarin is an asset.
8. Efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize.
9. Detail-oriented and result-oriented.
10. A self-starter with a willingness for continuous learning and self-motivation.
