About the Role
Working closely with the Lead Medical Practitioner and Senior Leadership Team, you will:
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality Occupational Health service
- Act as an autonomous practitioner managing complex clinical cases
- Oversee and mentor a team of Occupational Health professionals
- Drive clinical governance, innovation, and service growth
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and supervise the OH team day-to-day
- Develop policies, procedures, and best practice frameworks
- Drive clinical governance and maintain high standards
- Support achievement of SEQOHS accreditation
Service Delivery & Quality
- Oversee OH contracts and service delivery standards
- Manage complex case referrals and sickness absence cases
- Provide expert advice on workplace health risks
- Ensure compliance with NMC standards and legislation
Growth & Development
- Mentor clinicians through CPD and career pathways
- Foster a strong, independent nurse-led culture
- Contribute to commercial growth through high-quality service delivery
Collaboration
- Partner with HR, stakeholders, and external organisations
- Support vocational rehabilitation services
- Deliver training, health promotion, and wellbeing initiatives
About You
Qualified & Experienced
- RGN with Occupational Health Diploma/Degree
- 5+ years OH experience (including complex case management)
- 2+ years in a leadership or clinical lead role
Highly Skilled
- Full OH remit: health surveillance, immunisations, safety-critical medicals
- Strong knowledge of SEQOHS, governance, and legislation
- Expertise in absence management, rehab & pre-employment screening
Commercially Astute
- Strong understanding of KPIs, service delivery & OH operations
- Confident producing clear, concise reports
Inspirational Leader
- Excellent communication & stakeholder engagement skills
- Able to influence at all levels
- Passionate about continuous improvement & clinical excellence
