Are you an enthusiastic and driven individual looking for a foot in the door of a successful, global aviation organisation? Are you not afraid of working shifts, on-site (during the days) in a fast-paced office environment? If so, read on, as this might be the opportunity for you. We are looking for Account Executives to join our Gatwick-based Cargo team and be trained to provide a portfolio of Time Critical cargo services, including On-board Courier (OBC), Next Flight Out (NFO), and part/full Charter solutions to our extensive portfolio of clients.
You will learn about aircraft types, processes, procedures, pricing structures, systems, and sales techniques. You'll build and maintain relationships with our Operators to understand their offerings. We will also develop your softer skills such as written and verbal communication, business etiquette, and more, before you start shadowing and learning from the experts.
During your probation period (usually 6 months), you will primarily work normal office hours Monday to Friday, on-site at our Gatwick office (RH6 0PA). After this period, once training is complete and you are comfortable, you will support the Team in day-to-day trading, cargo commercial services, and operations. This involves working a 12-hour shift pattern covering day shifts (5am-5pm) or night shifts (5pm-5am) on a 4 on, 4 off basis, similar to airport schedules. Weekday day shifts will be office-based, while weekend and night shifts can be performed remotely if preferred.
Starting Salary - £29,500
Upon successful probation and after starting the 12-hour shift pattern, you will receive an additional £6,000 annual shift allowance, bringing your total package to £35,500. You will also become eligible to earn commission on qualifying bookings on top of your salary/allowance.
What you will be doing:
* Supporting the Team in all aspects of daily trading, cargo commercial services, and operations
o Maintaining and growing our existing client base, including quick turnaround of inquiries, cold calling, and sales activities
o Assisting with client care and supplier relations, including visits, events, and airport meet and greets or carry-on flights
o Researching industry data to help create new sales leads
Candidate Requirements
We want to be transparent from the start. This role is fun, high reward, but sometimes pressurised. We are looking for Cargo Account Executives with the following attributes:
* A competitive nature and hunger for sales
* Enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile
* Clear communication skills and excellent telephone manner
o Confidence to speak to all levels and cold call leads
o Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
o Problem-solving skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
+ Flexibility and adaptability to business needs and unsocial hours if required
+ Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed
# Excellent time management to meet deadlines
# A team player who can also work independently during night shifts
# A good sense of humour
# Availability to be Gatwick office-based and to work the 12-hour shift pattern after probation
Additional advantages:
* Knowledge or passion for aviation
* A full, valid Driving license
* Previous office-based sales or broking experience
We offer an entry point into a challenging sector, comprehensive training, good benefits, occasional travel, and a pathway to become an Account Manager earning commissions.
What next? If you apply, your CV will be reviewed promptly. Selected candidates will be contacted for a screening call, followed by an assessment centre on 28th August at our Gatwick office. Successful candidates will receive contracts the week of 1st September, with training starting on 6th October. You must be available for at least the first 3 months after this date.
We look forward to hearing from you!
