Child Psychotherapist / Clinical Psychologist CAMHS
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 8a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our multi disciplinary dynamic CAMHS service. Consideration will also be given to newly qualified child and adolescent Psychotherapist for whom this would be a development post moving to a Band 8a following 2 years post qualification.
The role of the Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist is to ensure delivery and development of a high-quality specialist assessment and intervention underpinned by a psycho-analytical framework to compliment the range of psychological/therapeutic services within the multi-disciplinary service. The post holder will provide assessment, consultation, training, groups and individual interventions for parents/carers and infants, young children and their families and clinical supervision. The post holder will embrace the core values of the organisation and demonstrate professional boundaries.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure that interventions are planned in an integrated and co-ordinated manner particularly where dependent on other external agencies identified through supervision or complex case discussion.
* Provide specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals to assist in formulation, management and treatment of service users.
* Provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients.
* Develop care packages including assessing, planning, intervention and evaluation with active involvement of parents and infants.
* Provide specialist psychotherapeutic assessments of referred families and identify collaboratively the most appropriate treatment.
* Participate in development/delivery of training for other professional groups within parent-infant mental health service.
* Lead on programmes of audit and research within the team and implement findings.
* Lead on areas of service development.
* Depose for the Clinical Lead in their absence.
* Provide Clinical Supervision both internally and externally.
* Contribute to the training experience of trainee Child Psychotherapists / Clinical Psychologists as appropriate.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Masters level preclinical training at an Association of Child Psychotherapists recognised training school; post graduate doctoral level training in clinical child psychotherapy or Doctoral level Clinical Psychology (BPS/HCPC). Experience of specialist psychotherapeutic assessment and treatment of families as part of a multidisciplinary team in community, primary care, outpatient or inpatient settings.
Desirable: Pre-qualification training in relevant health, social care or education settings.
Other requirements: Disclosure and Barring Service Check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; UK registration with relevant professional body; visa/sponsorship considerations as applicable.
