Overview
We are currently recruiting for an organised and proactive Engineering Scheduler to join a fast-paced, service-driven organisation based in Oxfordshire.
This is a key role responsible for coordinating field engineers, ensuring efficient scheduling of maintenance and service activities, and delivering a high level of customer service. You will act as the central point between engineers, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, schedule, and allocate work to a team of field-based engineers
* Manage engineer diaries to ensure maximum efficiency and utilisation
* Act as the main point of contact for incoming service requests via phone and email
* Liaise with clients and internal teams to provide updates on job progress
* Monitor ongoing works and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts or delays
* Ensure all jobs are logged, tracked, and completed within agreed SLAs
* Coordinate parts, materials, and access requirements for scheduled works
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and system updates
* Support with general service desk administration (job sheets, purchase orders, etc.)
* Build strong working relationships with engineers, suppliers, and customers
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a scheduler, planner, or service coordinator role (engineering, FM, or similar environment preferred)
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Confident working in a fast-paced, reactive environment
* Good IT skills (Microsoft Office and scheduling/CRM systems)
* Ability to problem-solve and think proactively
Schedulers play a critical role in ensuring engineers are deployed effectively and services are delivered on time, requiring strong coordination and communication across teams.
