At COP, we’re here to unlock the full potential of offshore wind to power the world, and there’s no time to waste. As part of our team, you’ll work on market-leading projects with some of the most experienced and passionate people in the industry. Together, we get stuff done and own the impact of our work, with respect and safety always at the core. Founded in 2015, we are the exclusive offshore wind development partner to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, the world’s largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield energy investments.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer to support planning and scheduling activities for COP’s Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Project, ideally based in Edinburgh.
The Pentland project is an innovative floating offshore wind development located off the coast of Dounreay in Caithness, northern Scotland. Once operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 100 MW of clean electricity, enough to power around 70,000 homes, contributing to the advancement of floating wind technology and supporting the UK’s transition to renewable energy.
In this role, you will work closely with the project management and technical teams to develop and maintain integrated project schedules, ensuring that milestones, dependencies, and timelines are clearly defined and effectively monitored.
As part of the Pentland project team, you will support the coordination of planning activities across multiple workstreams and contractors, helping ensure the successful development and delivery of a complex offshore wind project.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
* Develop and maintain integrated project schedules covering key development and delivery milestones.
* Support the preparation of project plans, schedule updates, and progress reporting for project leadership and stakeholders.
* Monitor project progress against planned milestones and identify schedule deviations and potential delays.
* Work closely with package managers and technical teams to coordinate planning activities across project workstreams.
* Support the identification and mitigation of schedule risks and critical path activities.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of project planning and project controls processes.
* Prepare schedule analysis and planning inputs for project decision-making and reporting.
Your Experience
* Experience working in project planning or project controls roles, ideally within offshore windfarm projects or large infrastructure, construction, or energy projects.
* Proficient user of planning tools including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software. Knowledge of other tools would be considered a plus.
* Strong understanding of project scheduling, critical path analysis, and progress tracking methodologies.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and ThinkCell for project reporting and schedule analysis.
