Overview
We\re looking for a kind, enthusiastic, and reliable support worker to join a small care team in Worsley. Our client has a fantastic sense of humour and loves getting out and about — socialising at local pubs, visiting the theatre, attending concerts or spending quality time with her family, carers, and her little dog. Following a severe brain injury, our client now uses a wheelchair and requires full support with daily routines, personal care, and therapy sessions. She has a real zest for life and enjoys lunches out, trying new activities, and going on mini-breaks. She\d love for you to join her! You\ll work closely with her family and Case Manager to ensure she receives the best possible care and support. If you\re someone who brings positive energy and enjoys making a difference, we\d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
* Provide full support with daily routines, personal care, and therapy sessions.
* Assist with outings and activities that fit the client\s interests and rehabilitation programme.
* Collaborate with the client\s family and Case Manager to ensure high-quality care and support.
* Follow care plans and maintain the client\s dignity, privacy, and well-being.
* Be flexible with start and finish times and travel as required.
* Support with documentation and basic IT tasks as needed.
Qualifications
* Essential: A genuine passion for helping others and supporting people to achieve their goals. A fantastic opportunity to learn from the client and gain insight into challenges of living with an acquired brain injury.
* Desirable: Previous care experience, experience supporting adults with physical disabilities, an interest in therapy, and willingness to try new things.
* Driver: Desirable but not essential.
* Vehicle use: May involve driving a wheelchair-adapted vehicle or using your own car.
* Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
* References and enhanced DBS check are required; a criminal conviction does not necessarily prevent employment.
* Comfortable in the client\s home and respectful of family needs and wishes.
* Willing to learn skills including hoisting, feeding, and personal care routines (training provided).
* Physically able to follow a Handling Management Plan (e.g., bending, kneeling, squatting, or lunging) to maintain good posture during handling tasks.
* Genuine interest in working with individuals with complex needs; flexible, proactive, and reliable.
* Strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skills; comfortable using IT.
* Willing to travel and comfortable around dogs (client has a pet dog).
* Full driving licence (endorsements to be disclosed) is desirable.
* An interest in fashion, clothing, hair, and make-up would be an advantage.
Benefits
* Ongoing training and support (including The Care Certificate).
* 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata).
* Pension scheme (subject to eligibility).
* Sick pay entitlement.
* Free enhanced DBS check.
* Regular supervision and support from the Team Leader, Case Manager, and HR team.
