Principal Product Assurance Engineer - Manufacturing
Circa £50,000 salary.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on site due to workload classification.
Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship. After offer, all successful candidates undergo BPSS basic personnel security checks.

The opportunity
Provide independent visibility and assurance that manufacturing and related processes follow quality standards across all projects. Support UK manufacturing quality, identify and implement sustainable improvements, and reduce project risk through effective process application, compliance, and problem‑solving.
Key responsibilities:
* Support and advise on all aspects of quality within UK Manufacturing.
* Assist manufacturing excellence through training and quality awareness.
* Support UK manufacturing programmes to achieve cost, time, and quality targets.
* Improve process effectiveness within the Company Business Management System.
* Audit and assess quality requirements, provide reporting and enable timely closure of audit issues.
* Collaborate with UK and overseas QA colleagues to meet quality objectives.
* Define risk reduction strategies and action plans.
* Facilitate non‑conformance review panels.
* Analyse defect data, conduct root‑cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.

What we're looking for from you
* HNC/HND in a relevant subject.
* Quality professional with process‑based integrated management systems experience in engineering/manufacturing.
* Experience using risk management and problem‑solving tools (e.g., 8D, 5Y, PFMEA).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
* Quality auditing experience.
* Knowledge of EN9100/AS9100, AS9102, AS9145, AS9146, etc.
* Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organisational skills.
* Capability to drive sustainable business improvements.
* Strong communication and influence skills at all organisational levels.
* High self‑motivation and determination to deliver results.
* Understanding of regulatory and certification requirements.
Position based in Stevenage; regular support to UK and overseas MBDA manufacturing sites (Stevenage, Bolton). UK and international travel required.
