Our client, an independent accountancy practice, is seeking an Accounts Manager to join their friendly team. Up to £42k dependent upon experience and qualifications (pro-rata for part time hours) Working hours full OR part time Monday to Friday Study support for the right candidate 23 days annual holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time hours) One day a short day if full-time Statutory pension (enhanced after 2 years service up to 10% employer) Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare monthly / quarterly management for a portfolio of clients Produce profit and loss statements, balance sheets, variance analysis, and KPI reporting Complete budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow modelling Review client bookkeeping and ensure accuracy of ledgers and reconciliations Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements Year‑end accounts preparation and liaison with auditors where required Support clients with accounting system implementation and process improvements Skills and experience required: AAT / ACCA part qualified or QBE Previous practice experience completing both management and year end accounts Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, VLOOKUP) Experience with accounting software Xero, Quick Books, Sage desired Good working knowledge of accounting procedures Extremely organised and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in a small team
