What You’ll Be DoingIn this role, you will:Administer pension benefits in line with LGPS and/or Firefighters' Pension Scheme RegulationsSupport and mentor colleagues, offering technical adviceValidate and update member data using the Altair pension systemCarry out complex calculations — using the system or manuallyWork closely with employers, payroll teams and HR to maintain accurate informationProvide clear and helpful guidance to scheme members by phone and in writingSupport key processes such as year‑end tasks, CARE updates and pensioner payrollRepresent Pension Services at meetings or induction sessions when needed If you enjoy a mix of analytical work and customer contact, this role will suit you well. About YouWe would like to hear from you if you:Have strong experience in LGPS or Firefighter pension administrationCan use the Altair system (or equivalent) with confidenceHave good IT skills, especially in Word, Excel and OutlookAre comfortable working with numbers and solving problemsCommunicate clearly and deliver excellent customer serviceCan work flexibly — both independently and as part of a teamHandle confidential information professionally and follow GDPR requirements Experience with payroll processing, online portals or pension‑related qualifications is helpful, but not essential.
