Our client, a highly respected Investment Manager, is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their dynamic Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated sales professional to play a key role in driving business growth, developing strong relationships with financial advisers, and contributing to the continued success of a market-leading firm.
Role Overview
As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a broad network of financial advisers and partners. You'll identify and secure new business opportunities, champion client retention, and exceed ambitious sales targets. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with internal sales teams and senior colleagues to deliver an exceptional client experience and support the company’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with financial advisers
* Identify new business opportunities via multiple channels including cold calling, inbound marketing leads, and industry events
* Arrange meetings for the Senior Business Development Manager via phone, Zoom, or Teams
* Maintain and update the Salesforce CRM with accurate activity records and pipeline progress
* Act as a client champion focused on retention and meeting/exceeding quarterly sales goals
* Tailor client interactions to deliver exceptional service, meeting individual adviser needs
* Conduct compelling presentations and meetings, effectively showcasing the firm’s value proposition
* Use data and insights to manage your own pipeline with efficiency and precision
* Collaborate with internal and external sales managers to identify fresh growth opportunities
* Stay informed on market regulations and product knowledge to influence key stakeholders confidently
* Ensure thorough knowledge of and compliance with company procedures and standards
Key Requirements:
* Demonstrable success in a sales/business development role with a strong track record of exceeding targets
* A self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and hunger for success
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build trust with advisers
* A client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
* Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach, and an authentic, engaging style
* High levels of motivation, energy, and resilience
Desirable:
* Background or interest in financial services
* Experience using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce
* Professional financial qualifications (e.g. IMC, RO) completed or in progress
