We are now recruiting for the position of Catering Assistant at Queens Hospital Burton. We seek compassionate, caring, hardworking, and flexible team members committed to enhancing the patient experience. All staff at UHDB play a vital role in the organization. Candidates must be able to work as part of a team and possess a positive attitude.
Full training will be provided, including Level 2 Food Safety and Allergen Training, mandatory training, and role-specific training. Uniform and PPE are supplied.
The main duties of a Catering Assistant include working with facilities and ward teams to perform various tasks related to food preparation, and serving food and beverages to patients, visitors, and staff.
1. Deliver excellent customer care with helpfulness, awareness, and compassion towards patients, visitors, staff, and colleagues.
2. Prepare patient meal trays.
3. Serve cold and hot food items and deliver meals to patients.
4. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and related areas according to departmental schedules, including cleaning equipment, work surfaces, crockery, and cutlery.
Applicants should have good literacy and numerical skills, and a strong understanding of customer care and teamwork. Catering experience and a Food Safety Certificate are desirable but not essential, as skills and training will be provided.
