Overview
PERSONAL ASSISTANT REQUIRED for a 19 year old in AMMANFORD AREA. 4 HOURS PER WEEK £13.00 to £13.25 per hour. The Individual is currently transitioning and is receiving support from the Welsh Gender Service and would require support and understanding around this transition. Experience with LGBTQIA+ is essential. The Individual is on the Autism Spectrum and may require support with communication (Selectively Mute). The Individual may have sensory needs, social anxiety and may struggle to leave the house. The mum would like the PA to start supporting within the home to build rapport and trust, with the aim of engaging in community activities later. The Individual loves animals (pet snakes and bearded dragons) and reptiles, so the PA should be comfortable around animals.

Principal duties and responsibilities
1. Supporting the employer with encouragement in gaining independence
2. Enabling the employer to interact socially in their community
3. Providing support to the employer whilst shopping and attending activities of interest
4. Supporting the employer to develop independent living skills
5. To provide companionship in the employer’s home, including engaging in conversation with the employer and providing them with social interaction
6. Encouraging the employer to attend appointments
7. Ensuring the employer’s safety at all times during your working hours
8. To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours
9. To ensure compliance with Data Protection Act
10. Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to Carmarthenshire County Council immediately on (01267 228751)
11. Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the employer need medical assistance

2. To undertake all duties in a friendly and helpful manner
3. Able to contact people on behalf of the employer when necessary

Working in the employer’s home and supporting them to access facilities and community activities.

* Caring, patient and friendly
* Responsible, reliable and honest
* Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative
* Has good local knowledge of the area where the employer lives
* Good time-keeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties as determined by the employer’s requirements
* Ability to keep simple records such as time recording
* Good communicator able to talk to people on behalf of the employer when required
* Able to develop long-term supportive and consistent relationships with employers
* A full, clean driving licence and use of a car is likely to be required (depends on needs and walking distance)
* You must be prepared to have business use on your vehicle insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours
* Be prepared to undergo training to best meet the employer’s needs
