Job overview
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for those interested in supporting the development of communication skills of children in Wandsworth mainstream primary schools. Due to investment in our service we are able to recruit an assistant to increase our existing, well established mainstream schools speech and language therapy service. Supporting children’s communication development is vital and speech therapy plays a crucial role in supporting children to reach their educational potential.
Main duties of the job
* Supporting our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service to children attending the children's centres or clinic for communication advice
* To attend stay and play sessions to promote communication development and give advice to parents and carers
* Encouraging and supporting children's centres to become a communication rich environment
* Providing administrative support to SLTs in the children centre and clinic team
* To attend team meetings and frequently liaise with other members of the team
* Recording patient information on client database (RiO)
* Recording numbers attending groups and reporting to the SLT
* Receiving calls from parents and schools etc

The Children’s Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
