We are seeking to optimise our established Cloud deployment, built on Azure, to provide an AI-augmented agile cloud platform that responds quickly to demand from service users, making it “easy to do business” with Ramsay – for patients, clinicians, and partners. Working alongside colleagues in our “Digital & Technology” function, along with trusted partners in infrastructure, data, integration, and AI spaces, you will have great opportunities to lead and shape the future of Ramsay.
The role
As Cloud Architect, you will maintain the cloud platform and the roadmaps for adding new cloud capabilities and collaborate with the business on the adoption of solution designs servicing both clinical and technology areas using cloud platform services and tools.
What you will do
* Govern and manage the cloud architecture for all existing and new services and/or platforms
* Design and build end-to-end cloud architectures
* Reduce the “time to market” for business initiatives by providing digital technology solutions based on native (Azure) commoditised cloud services and capabilities
* Understand and recommend utilisation of cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, CaaS, SaaS) based on business requirements to simplify business application architecture and operating models
What you will bring
You will demonstrate a good understanding of the “Azure cloud adoption” and “Azure well-architected” frameworks and have prior experience with scaled cloud migration and datacentre exit programmes.
Knowledge of architecture models, principles, and standards (TOGAF, Zachman), project management (waterfall, agile), and service management (ITIL) lifecycle is essential. Azure cloud certification and exposure to cloud providers (AWS, Azure), service models, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and cloud platform services is preferred.
Experience with the following is highly desirable:
* Infrastructure as Code (Bicep), CI/CD (Azure DevOps), Version Control (Git), Scripting (PowerShell, Azure CLI), Automation (PowerAutomate)
* Entra ID user accounts, groups, app registrations, single sign-on, managed identities, role-based access control, connect, B2B sync, multi-tenant management
* Hub and spoke virtual network topologies, virtual WAN, secured hubs with Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN, Network Virtual Appliances (Meraki SD-WAN)
* Front Door and Web Application Firewall, including custom domains and DNS, origin groups, origins, compression, caching, log inspection, exception management
* App Services (Web, API, Container, Function, Logic, Static), API Management, Service Bus, Databases (SQL, MySQL), Key Vault, Storage Account, and Application Insights
* Data Factory, Databricks (Unity Catalog, SCIM Provisioning, Permissions, Delta Sharing, multi-workspace management), Storage Account (Data Lake), PowerBI
* Virtual Machines, Bastion, Flow Logging, Log Analytics Workspaces, Event Hub, Diagnostic settings, Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Private Endpoints
Benefits include 25 days leave + bank holidays, flexi leave options, private pension (up to 5% match), enhanced parental leave, private medical cover, life assurance, free training via Ramsay Academy, employee support schemes, cycle-to-work, and Blue Light Card scheme.
