Overview
The Nursery Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills and a passion for early childhood education. The Nursery Manager will be responsible for managing staff, communicating effectively with parents, and driving the nursery's vision to provide high-quality childcare. Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage and lead a team of childcare professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their development.
* Develop and implement educational programmes that promote children's learning and development in line with early years frameworks.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, addressing any concerns or queries regarding their children's progress.
* Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and other relevant documentation.
* Organise activities that encourage social interaction and cognitive development among children.
* Ensure the nursery environment is clean, safe, and conducive to learning.
* Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery's reputation within the community.
Skills
* Proficient in English with excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively.
* Strong leadership abilities to manage a diverse team and inspire them towards achieving common goals.
* Experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
* Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is highly desirable.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
* A passion for nurturing children's growth and development through innovative programmes and activities.

What a Nursery Manager needs
* Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification.
* Excellent understanding of EYFS.
* Extensive knowledge of safeguarding.
* Senior leadership experience within a nursery setting.
* It is a legal requirement to hold a GCSE or equivalent qualification in Maths or be willing to achieve within 2 years of starting the position.

We expect all staff and volunteers to uphold this commitment, and safeguarding training is a fundamental part of every role. All colleagues are required to complete regular training to ensure they understand and fulfil their responsibilities. A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate is mandatory for all positions, and this role will be subject to enhanced checks as part of our safeguarding duties.
