About the role
In your role as IT Project Manager, you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role offers a great opportunity to manage projects within the IT Portfolio, including a mix of technical and non-technical work packages, using an agreed project management methodology and adhering to the USS Change Model.
For assigned projects, you will deliver through the recognised and agreed lifecycle to baselined time, cost, and quality.
What you will be doing
As a trusted part of the IT team, you will be responsible for:
* Leading and delivering assigned projects, ensuring goals, scope, and milestones are met
* Producing accurate status reports and stakeholder packs, maintaining control through change methodology
* Managing project resources effectively, escalating conflicts, and leading teams throughout delivery
* Running meetings and workshops, ensuring stakeholder engagement and clear communication
* Creating and maintaining high-quality project documentation aligned with governance frameworks
* Collaborating with IT and Transformation teams to share and apply best practices
* Providing peer support, covering for colleagues, and contributing to continuous process improvement
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Strong knowledge of project management principles, governance, and risk control
* An industry-recognised project management certification or accreditation
* Experience in business and IT change projects as part of a project team
* Skills in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities
* The ability to work independently with excellent organisational skills
* Clear and concise communication skills with strong presentation abilities
* Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with third-party IT suppliers
