Payroll & Finance Assistant
Overview:
TSR Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading law firm who are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in both finance and payroll who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance Duties:
Assist with client account management and reconciliations
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
Reconcile bank statements and maintain ledgers
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
Manage purchase orders and expense claims
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
Payroll Duties:
Process monthly payroll for all staff (including starters, leavers, and contractual changes)
Calculate statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, SAP)
Verify tax codes and deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions)
Liaise with HMRC and pension providers
Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports
Respond to payroll queries from staff and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in both finance and payroll functions
Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Xero, Sage)
Strong Excel and IT skills
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Salary & Benefits:
£25,000
£32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays)
