Overview
Customer Engineer, Cloud Start-ups and Scale-ups — Google
Responsibilities
* Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities related to the data lifecycle, understand key customer objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
* Share storage and database expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering with product management to prioritize solutions that impact customer adoption of Google Cloud.
* Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
* Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
* Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, representing Google Cloud publicly.
Minimum qualifications
* Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 6 years of experience in a Customer Engineering role.
* Experience architecting solutions for data transformation, migration, governance strategies, high availability, or disaster recovery.
* Experience working with start-up/scale-up.
* Experience with Cloud products.
Preferred qualifications
* Experience with data/pipelining, AI/ML.
* Experience understanding a customer’s existing software workloads and defining a technical migration roadmap to the Cloud reflecting specific customer needs.
* Experience working with the startup ecosystem.
* Experience prospecting and building and maintaining new customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building out Greenfield territories.

You will use expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.
