1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Salary: £90–£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Flexible

This 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them access learning within a structured and positive environment.
The successful 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant will work closely with an individual pupil, providing tailored support throughout the school day and helping to manage behaviours that challenge through consistent strategies and positive relationship building. This 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference to a pupil’s learning, confidence, and daily school experience.
Key Responsibilities of the 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant Role:
* Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
* Supporting the pupil to engage in classroom activities and routines
* Managing behaviours that challenge using calm and consistent approaches
* Working closely with teaching staff to implement support strategies
* Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence, and independence
* Maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment
The Ideal 1:1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant Will:
* Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
* Be confident managing behaviours that challenge
* Demonstrate patience, resilience, and strong communication skills
* Be calm, consistent, and proactive in approach
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
* Have a fully checkable work history
