Term: 1‑year fixed term Salary: £24,723–£29,229 pro rata (Scale Point 26–31) Base: Travel throughout Fife, with home‑working and occasional meetings at Deafblind Scotland Learning & Development Centre, 1 Neasham Drive, Kirkintilloch, G66 3FA. Background Deafblind Scotland is a specialist charity supporting adults with dual sensory loss, as well as those with a single sensory impairment who benefit from our services. Our mission is to ensure people with sensory loss can live meaningful, independent lives. Dual sensory loss can be profoundly isolating, and many individuals face significant barriers in communication, confidence and social connection. Our services help people rebuild skills, regain independence and reconnect with their communities. Some individuals acquire both sensory losses later in life, while others may be born deaf or blind and lose the second sense through conditions such as Usher Syndrome or ageing. Purpose of the Job This role expands our Connect2Support Programme through the Carers Advice Project, supporting carers in Fife—many of whom may themselves have a sensory impairment. The project aims to reduce socio‑economic and health inequalities by helping carers understand and access their rights, improve wellbeing and secure appropriate support. The Project Officer will carry out needs assessments, provide tailored information, assist with benefit applications, make referrals, offer advocacy and deliver ongoing person‑centred support. The service is delivered primarily through home visits, recognising that many carers face barriers such as limited access to technology. The Project Officer will bring digital tools to appointments, enabling forms and information to be accessed on‑site. Carers will also be able to access wider Deafblind Scotland services, including technology support, communication and independent living skills, training, and health and wellbeing programmes. Opportunities for peer support and wellbeing activities will also be developed. The role involves regular travel across Fife and occasional visits to our Kirkintilloch office.
