DN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated HE Practical Laboratory Technician to join our Higher Education team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our university campuses, supporting practical sessions in Bioscience, Biochemistry, Food Science, Animal Welfare, and Science Education.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining our laboratories, preparing materials, and delivering practical instruction to undergraduate students, helping to create a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Prepare equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical sessions.
* Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and equipment storage.
* Demonstrate techniques and support students during experiments.
* Deliver practical teaching sessions and provide technical advice.
* Maintain accurate records of student work and laboratory activities.
* Support staff and students undertaking research.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
* Liaise with academic staff to plan and coordinate lab activities.
* Participate in student engagement and induction activities.
Qualifications
* Degree in a biology‑related subject.
* Experience working in a laboratory setting.
* Understanding of teaching and supporting undergraduate students.
* Ability to work safely and to tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
