We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services that meet the company's operational needs. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of supply chain management, and proficiency in various procurement systems. The Buyer will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of quality products while optimising costs.
Responsibilities
* Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and pricing.
* Utilise SAP ERP and Oracle EBS systems for procurement processes, ensuring accurate data entry and management.
* Manage the supply chain logistics to ensure efficient delivery of goods.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
* Monitor inventory levels and forecast future purchasing needs based on sales trends.
* Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
* Maintain relationships with existing suppliers while exploring new vendor opportunities.
* Prepare purchase orders and track order fulfilment to ensure timely delivery.
* Analyse supplier performance and implement improvements as necessary.
Experience
* Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with supply chain principles and logistics operations.
* Proficient in using procurement software / systems.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for managing complex data sets.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
