JOB PURPOSE
As a Forward Allocator, you will help us drive our business forward and provide our customers with brilliant experiences, support the Operations Manager in supervision of all aspects of operational performance, while managing a governance agenda that supports legislative, process and policy compliance.
You'll coach, develop, and inspire everyone in your team to perform at their best every day. You'll lead by example and you'll always put safety first.
JOB DESCRIPTION
* Allocate driver duties within current driver hours and working time legislation, in accordance with Go North West policies, standard operating procedures, and all other relevant legislation
* Ensure accurate capture and recording of drivers' hours, duties and attendance in the DAS Gui and Power BI systems, or other systems highlighted in the system matrices.
* Work with the training function to ensure that operations teams are competently trained, and new starters are appropriately allocated to rotas
* Support driver queries in a timely manner
* Maintain accurate records for all aspects of driver working time
* Ensure payroll information is accurate and processed in accordance with payroll deadlines
* Effectively plan and manage annual holiday and training requirements, e.g., driver CPC periodic training
* Improve operational performance in a sustainable manner, with a key focus on managing driver payroll costs, resulting in delivery of key performance indicators
* Work alongside depot operational and engineering team members, fostering an excellent working relationship between drivers and supervisors to ensure a consistently good customer experience
* Comply with requisition to pay procedures and delegated authorities
* Ensure an effective working relationship with recognised Trade Union representatives and officials
* Other duties commensurate with the role as may be deemed appropriate by the line manager
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and experience requirements
* Previous experience (at supervisory or management level) of operational management in a unionised environment
* Well developed communication and relationship building skills
* Computer literate with ability to use DAS Gui and Microsoft Office to write reports and emails clearly and precisely
* Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, performance indicators, company procedures and agreements relating to people
* Delivery of change and sustained high performance
* Building and maintaining key internal and external stakeholder relationships
