Are you a recent English graduate eager to take your first steps into education? Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a number of supportive secondary schools in Northampton, offering exciting opportunities for English graduates to gain hands-on classroom experience and begin their teaching journey from January 2026.
This is an excellent role for someone considering a future career in teaching, with opportunities to support students, build confidence in the classroom, and prepare for a PGCE or teacher training programme.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Supporting English teachers with lesson delivery and literacy-focused activities across KS3 and KS4
2. Leading small group and one-to-one intervention sessions to boost reading, writing, and analytical skills
3. Helping students develop confidence in English language and literature
4. Assisting with planning, marking, resource preparation, and classroom organisation
5. Contributing to wider school life, including reading clubs, creative writing groups, or enrichment activities
Who We're Looking For:
6. A recent English graduate (or closely related degree) with a 2:2 or above
7. A clear communicator with strong literacy skills and an encouraging, approachable manner
8. Someone with a genuine passion for education and supporting young people
9. Aspiring teachers looking to gain valuable school-based experience before teacher training
10. Reliable, enthusiastic, and committed to helping students achieve their potential
