The Recipe for Success: Role Summary We’re looking for a Master Chef of Numbers! Your role will be the secret ingredient that brings together the Finance kitchen and the Commercial dining room. You’ll whip up delicious insights by analysing the freshest trends in sales, marketing, and retail, helping our Commercial team serve up maximum sales and profit margins. You won’t just follow the recipe, you’ll taste, tweak, and challenge the flavors, adding your own creative seasoning with ideas, recommendations, and data-driven analysis. Ingredients: Key Responsibilities What’s On Your Daily Menu These are the everyday ingredients you’ll be working with: Stock & Ingredients: Support the Commercial team with all the essentials: stock, sales, performance analysis, and data that’s fresh and ready to use. Sales Analysis: Slice and dice product, category, and promotion performance, spotting trends, risks, and opportunities to spice up sales across all channels. Wholesale Forecasting & Budgeting: Be the central station for Wholesale, Retail, and Ecommerce forecasting: balancing inventory for new products and promotions like a seasoned chef. Monitor performance against forecasts and dish up reports for the Sales team. Marketplace Activity: Keep an eye on the specials board: document marketplace activity for year-on-year comparisons and compile customer sales-out data into a standard recipe for insight. Price Lists & Order Forms: Maintain price lists and create order forms for core products and promotional menus. Cost Control: Monitor all POS, sample, and marketing spend: serve up a monthly log and evaluation. Central Database Management: Keep our recipe book organised: maintain customer terms, SDAs, pricing, and trading agreements. Selective Distribution Agreement: Take full responsibility for the SDA process. Extra Garnish: From time to time, add a pinch of flexibility by taking on other reasonable duties. What’s On Your Seasonal Menu These duties appear when the business recipe calls for something special: Reporting & Forecasting: Keep our sales reports and forecasting tools simmering efficiently, and whip up new ones to challenge and elevate commercial decisions. Data Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with our IT Data chefs to serve BI reporting across the UK business, ensuring nothing gets burnt when Qlikview closes. Budget Prep: Collaborate with the Commercial Director to prepare budgeted sales by account and garnish the process with streamlined data for the Wholesale Accountant. Promotional Activity: Taste-test marketing campaigns, identify what’s sizzling, and help Account Managers cook up commercially viable promotional proposals. Manage the approval process from prep to plating. Skills & Qualifications - Essential Ingredients Experience: A minimum of 2–5 years as a seasoned chef in the world of commercial analysis, ideally in a Finance, Retail, or FMCG kitchen, and preferably within an omni-channel commercial organisation. Education: A pinch of A Levels (or equivalent) in English and Maths, plus a dash of AAT/CIMA/ACCA or similar part qualification. Tools of the Trade: Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, your essential utensils for prepping and plating data. Special Sauces: Knowledge of Power BI or other data visualisation tools to add flavor to your insights. Project Management: Ability to juggle multiple dishes without burning any! Organisation: Keep your kitchen spotless and your mise en place perfect. Communication: Serve up ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing. Problem-Solving: When the recipe goes wrong, you know how to fix it. Presentation: Turn complex data into a beautifully plated, easy-to-digest dish. Speed: Respond quickly to critical pricing questions, because timing is everything in the kitchen. Other Requirements Sometimes, you’ll need to take your culinary skills on the road. This role may involve a tasting tour across the UK and occasionally abroad, with overnight stays on the menu.
