Role Overview
We are seeking people with enthusiasm and commitment to provide a high quality, added value service to our clients. You’ll develop skills in accountancy, taxation and audit, with substantial IT and business development exposure. Your client exposure and level of responsibility will grow with experience. Personal skills training is provided.
As part of the Early Careers Trainee Programme, you’ll gain practical client experience while studying toward your qualification. You’ll join the Sumer Academy– our development programme with online, virtual and in-person learning to build technical and soft skills. You’ll also train as part of a group-wide cohort, connecting with trainees across the Sumer Group.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We are looking for people who are:
* Working Towards a Degree or Degree Qualified: We will first consider applicants with at least 300 UCAS points (old tariff). Any degree discipline accepted.
* Part or Non-Qualified: We welcome applicants who do not hold accountancy qualifications or are starting toward Chartered Accountant status.
The Programme
You’ll join a training contract and programme, combining practical client experience with professional study toward your qualification. The Sumer Academy runs alongside your studies with a blend of online, virtual and in-person learning. You’ll be part of a group-wide cohort of trainees.

About You
To apply, you’ll need a strong academic background, including at least a Grade C/4 in English and Grade B/6 in Maths at National 5 level (or equivalent).
