SEN / SEND Tutor, Kent – Targeted Provision

Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in Kent. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support.

We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We support children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in Kent. Our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.

This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work 1:1 with children and young people with diverse learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role

* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support is delivered as needed by local authorities and schools to assist educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring

SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities

* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide holistic, engaging sessions aligned to the young person’s needs and goals
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress

SEN / SEND Tutor requirements

* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS/QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs
* Understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can assist with obtaining at cost)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK (even for remote/online work)

It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status

* Engagement as a Worker for short-term opportunities as they arise
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
