They're looking for an experienced CCTV Installer to join their growing team on a permanent basis. Position Overview As a CCTV Installer, you'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of security system installations – from initial planning through to handover and ongoing support. You'll work on domestic and commercial projects, installing and configuring CCTV cameras, intruder alarm systems, and access control solutions to professional standards. Your work directly impacts customer safety and satisfaction, and you'll take pride in delivering reliable, neat, and fully documented systems that work first time. Responsibilities Install, programme, commission, and service CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems to professional standards Perform first and second-fix cabling (CAT, coax, multi-core), containment, terminations, and labelling Configure NVRs, DVRs, IP cameras, PoE switches, alarm panels, keypads, expanders, and peripherals Carry out basic networking tasks including IP addressing, VLAN awareness, PoE configuration, and remote access setup Test and fault-find systems, ensuring reliability and performance before handover Communicate clearly with customers, providing comprehensive handover demonstrations and usage guidance Document all works thoroughly, including as-builts, photographs, commissioning sheets, and follow-up records Work independently on smaller installations and lead or coordinate on larger, more complex projects Maintain professional standards of workmanship and site safety at all times Requirements Minimum 25 years old (commercial vehicle insurance requirement) Clean UK driving licence DBS clearable or existing clean DBS certificate Minimum 2 years' professional experience installing and commissioning CCTV and/or alarms/access control systems in the UK Strong understanding of low-voltage electrics, safe isolation practices, and test equipment Solid knowledge of site safety procedures and requirements Ability to work independently and lead on larger installations Comfortable working at height Professional communication skills and consistently tidy workmanship Advantageous: manufacturer experience (Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, Axis, Ajax, Texecom, Honeywell, Paxton) Advantageous: basic networking competence (routers, DDNS, remote access best practice) Advantageous: site safety qualifications (CSCS, ECS, or IPAF) Company Overview This is a family-owned business built on craftsmanship, reliability, and word-of-mouth reputation.
