Standards Leader for Science

Full-time, 1-Year Fixed-Term
We are looking for a highly motivated Standards Leader for Science who will provide strategic leadership in the Science Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil progress from Year 7 to Year 13. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic specialist who is keen to develop their practice and bring continued success to our students.
The role involves line managing the Learning Leader for Science and the Learning Leader for Design Technology (DT) and Construction, overseeing the use of assessment data to monitor and track pupil progress, and ensuring the effective implementation of the school’s science and technology strategy. The postholder will work closely with the Learning Leader for Science and the Learning Leader DT and Construction to enhance teaching and learning within the Science and DT faculty, while supporting the Learning Leader for DT and Construction to ensure the development and application of scientific and technical skills across the curriculum.
Ysgol Calon Cymru is an 11-18 school that serves a wide rural area, located on two campuses, with an active sixth form. The school was inspected in October 2022 and described by Estyn as, 'Ysgol Calon Cymru provides a calm, caring and rich learning environment where many pupils develop as happy, confident and respectful individuals. Many pupils behave respectfully towards each other, develop positive relationships with school staff and are friendly with visitors.'
The ability to use the Welsh language is desirable for this position.
