Job overview
The Non-Specific Symptoms Urgent Suspected Cancer Pathway was introduced in Lincolnshire in 2021 to support earlier diagnosis of cancers in line with the NHS Long Term Plan. It is a pathway whereby GPs, MSK spinal service (and currently SDEC, ULTH) can refer patients with vague symptoms such as appetite loss and unexplained weight loss who do not fit into tumour site specific USC pathways but where the clinician still has a concern of cancer.
We are now looking at a redesign of the pathway and we are currently holding clinical reference group meetings to shape how we do this. This being in order to meet the needs of the Lincolnshire population and bring it into line with the recently updated national guidance. We would welcome clinicians who wish to take part in service redevelopment and improvement of this innovative pathway.
We are looking to appoint 2 x 0.250PA posts at Consultant or GPSWI level to support the service. This post would not meet the minimum threshold to attract sponsorship.
