About the Role
The Assistant Fabric Technologist will support the Kidswear and Special Purchase Team in day‑to‑day duties and ensure products meet Joules quality standards from design through to production.
What to Expect on a Day‑to‑Day Basis
* Work with and support the Kidswear and Special Purchase Team with their day‑to‑day duties.
* Understand the Joules quality standards, processes and procedures and the part they play in driving customer satisfaction.
* Support the Commercial teams to ensure our products meet the Joules quality standard, from design through to production.
* Constantly drive improvement and innovation with regards to product quality and fabric performance to reduce customer returns and drive revenue.
* Support the Fabric team with roll‑ups, business‑level reviews and strategic seasonal cross costing projects.
* Complete risk assessments for all new fabrics and mills/routes.
* Support with colour and fabric development process from design through to supply chain.
* Work collaboratively to identify key fabric trends for the upcoming season and present findings to the Buying and Design teams.
* Ensure minimum parameters are set and monitored with regards to margin improvement and fabric consolidation.
* Collate information ahead of weekly CP meetings and highlight any risk, recommend solutions and support the Senior teams with issues that arise.
About You
From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:
* A relevant qualification or relevant experience.
* A well‑rounded knowledge of raw materials, fibres, yarns, and fabrics would be beneficial.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to communicate with overseas suppliers.
* High level of awareness and sense of urgency.

Where You Will Be Working
This is a full‑time role based at ‘The Barn’ – Joules’ purpose‑built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The role is office based, working onsite.
