We have a fantastic opportunity for Ambulance Care Assistants to join our team based in Crewe on a bank (0 hour) contract.
This is an out of hours position: Mon to Fri 16:00-06:00 / Sat 08:00-06:00 / Sun 06:00-06:00. Please only apply if you can commit to these hours.
An Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) is a rewarding role. You’ll help someone in need, making their lives easier, and gain a sense of achievement from your work.
Your main responsibility will be transporting elderly, sick, and vulnerable service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities. This can be done as two-person crews or alone, so holding a full UK driving license and being physically fit are essential.

Other duties include:
* Transporting ‘end of life’ service users with empathy
* Building rapport with patients and their families
* Lifting, securing, and assisting in and out of ambulances
* Handover of patients at treatment centers or homes
* Transferring patients in various settings
* Assisting with challenging behaviors and mental health issues
* Maintaining ambulance safety, cleanliness, and organization
To be considered as an ACA, you will need to be:
* Committed to patient care
* An effective communicator, especially in emotional situations
* A calm, considerate, careful driver with no more than three penalty points
* A team player
* Physically fit for patient handling
* Pass an enhanced DBS check (company funded)
* Able to work flexible shifts
* Familiar with the local area
Training:
We invest in your development with paid training covering safeguarding, infection control, health and safety, manual handling, and more. Our goal is to equip you with the skills to become a fully competent ACA.
