The Role:
Blackpool and The Fylde College (B&FC) is seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Systems Developer to join our Business Systems Development team on a fixed term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in enhancing, maintaining, and optimising the College’s core business applications and digital systems.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
As a key member of the Business Systems Development team, you will:
2. Provide timely and effective troubleshooting, diagnostics, and resolution of incidents and service requests across core business systems, working closely with vendors and internal teams.
3. Ensure the stability, reliability, and security of business applications through proactive maintenance, updates, patching, and monitoring activities.
4. Develop and implement system enhancements, integrations, interfaces, and APIs to evolving business needs and new digital processes.
5. Contribute to the design and hands-on development of new systems, solutions, and digital workflows that improve efficiency and user experience.
6. Produce and maintain high‑quality technical documentation, ensuring the knowledge base is comprehensive and up to date.
7. Review and action change requests in line with change management procedures, maintaining accurate records and assessing potential impacts.
8. Collaborate with IT Services teams and product owners to support system upgrades, migrations, and incident resolution, identifying risks and recommending mitigations.
