Responsibilities include:
* Managing and leading the implementation and delivery of PMO and project controls to support commissions.
* Leading and guiding team members within the PMO and planning centre of excellence.
* Creating and designing effective PMO and project controls frameworks and strategies.
* Managing performance, developing baselines, and monitoring delivery performance.
* Providing expert advice on cost, schedule, change, risk, and reporting.
* Facilitating governance and performance meetings.
* Line management of PMO and project controls team members.
* Mentoring and developing team members.
* Supporting the HUB PMO and project controls director with resourcing and recruitment.
* Working towards net zero carbon transition and managing related emissions and reductions.
Qualifications and experience:
* Effective leadership of PMO and project controls on complex construction projects.
* Experience setting up PMO and project controls services, frameworks, and strategies.
* Knowledge of risk tools and software (e.g., MS Office, Power BI, Primavera P6).
* Understanding of construction project lifecycle and interfaces within management consultancy.
* Deep domain knowledge in sectors like rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals.
* Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and influencing skills.
* Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
* Experience working in high-pressure environments managing multiple priorities.
* Professional accreditation such as APM PPC Foundation and Practitioner or working towards Chartered status.
Additional skills:
* Data analytics, Power BI, and reporting tools.
* Experience working as a client-side or consultancy role.
* Relevant degree (e.g., construction, engineering).
* Leadership of diverse teams and stakeholder management.
* Knowledge of sustainability and carbon considerations in projects.
