Job overview
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Team Leader Therapeutic Radiographer to join our friendly team at the Oxford Cancer Centre. Patients are at the heart of everything we do, and we are looking for Radiographers who are dedicated to delivering care with both compassion and respect.
Main duties of the job
* Lead and co‑ordinate the day‑to‑day clinical operations of the linac in accordance with department and Trust policies.
* Manage a caseload of patients, ensuring accurate and consistent planning and treatment.
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
* Support and train team members to maintain and develop professional and personal skills and standards.
* Assist Lead Radiographers and Operational Manager in implementation of changes within the radiotherapy service.
* Provide expert advice on treatment procedures and management of side effects to patients and carers.
* Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive coverage in all aspects of patient care.

Education / Qualifications
* Educated to Master (radiotherapy) level or equivalent knowledge in the area related to the role.
Experience
* Participation in radiotherapy development work.
* Previous NHS experience in Radiotherapy.
* Relevant Band 6 Therapeutic Radiographer experience.
* Participation in the implementation of a change in practice/new equipment.
* Experience using Varian/Aria equipment.
* Experience of using Eclipse & Somavision planning systems.
* Participation in research.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
* Understanding of CPD requirements of the profession.
* Self‑motivated, ability to work as part of a team and/or autonomously.
* Effective personnel management skills, including supervision of junior radiographers, students and other health care workers.

* Knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 and responsibilities relating to own professional practice.
* Good image interpretation skills.
* Awareness of current trends in radiotherapy.
* Attendance of relevant lectures/workshops/study days.
