We are advertising two (2) permanent part-time ( FTE and FTE) positions, commencing Term 1, 2026

Cranbrook Primary School (PS) is situated in the rural town of Cranbrook, in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. The school was opened in 1893 and officially become an Independent Public School in 2018.

The Role

As a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of planned education programs. This will include managing individual or small groups of students under the direction of the teacher that will help in the development of young minds and support the general health and wellbeing of students. You will work in a collaborative environment to provide support for students in the classroom. Special Needs Education Assistants will work alongside teachers to ensure the implementation of the school business plan and priorities using the agreed programs and strategies.

Suitable applicants should be caring, proactive, and responsive, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as possess good written and oral communication skills to enable the implementation of individual or small group-based programs. The ability to work with a range of age groups and special needs including diagnosed and imputed disabilities is highly desirable.

Suitable applicants should have a strong belief in every child’s ability to succeed at school and will be able to draw on a range of strategies to positively impact learning and behaviour.

Demonstrated ability to assist teachers or therapists in implementing educational programs, including special education and, should this be a requirement of the position, occupational and/or physiotherapy programs.
