As a Senior Quantity Surveyor at Mitie, you will be accountable for the commercial administration of a major construction framework. The role is critical to the financial success of our delivery and requires a strong understanding of contract management and commercial thinking. It will involve close collaboration with our internal project teams as well as external clients and suppliers. Your insights and commitment will directly influence profitability, client satisfaction, and the long‑term success of the framework.

Main Duties
Contract Management & Governance
* Interpret and manage contracts (e.g., NEC3 and NEC4) ensuring proper administration of terms, compensation events, and KPIs.
* Administer the change process, including the preparation and agreement of contract amendments and variations.
* Complete the application for payment process, including substantiation, and timely submission.
* Ensure compliance with contract obligations and proactively identify and manage commercial risks.
Financial Reporting
* Complete cost value reconciliations for your contracts, ensuring accurate forecasts and margin reporting.
* Work closely with finance on budgeting, cash flow and audit readiness.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as a commercial partner to operations, providing advice and challenge where needed.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, supply chain partners, and internal stakeholders.
* Represent the commercial function in client reviews and audits.
Procurement & Supply Chain
* Support the procurement process, ensuring subcontractor and supplier agreements are commercially robust with considered pricing.
* Administration of subcontracts, including valuations, cost auditing and final accounts.
Team Leadership
* Mentoring of junior members of the commercial team.
What we are looking for
Essential Requirements
* Substantial commercial experience.
* Proven track record of working with NEC or similar bespoke contracts.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large, complex contracts for multiple clients.
* Strong financial and interpretative skills with experience in forecasting and reporting.
* Leadership skills and ability to effectively mentor junior members of the team.
* Degree level qualification in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
* Ability to gain SC clearance.
Desirable Requirements
* Experience within civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
* Experience in the nuclear industry.
* Knowledge of public sector procurement.
