Job mission
As an Area Sales Manager, your mission is to accelerate growth and strengthen Piab’s presence in the assigned territory. This role is ideal for a sales professional who thrives on achieving targets, building strong customer relationships, and driving innovative solutions in a technical environment. You will be part of the Lifting Automation division focusing on growth via our channel partners and direct customers in the United Kingdom.
Experience and Educational Background
* Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in technical sales.
* Qualifications in sales related training would be beneficial.
Skills and Abilities
* Proven experience as a Sales Representative.
* Familiarity with the material handling or related industry is a plus.
* Experience with CRM software (preferably Salesforce).
* Fluent in English, both oral and written.
Travel
Frequent travel – most days are spent with our customers on their premises.
Key Responsibilities
* Implement market growth plans aligned with divisional strategies, goals, and objectives within the territory.
* Build rapport with existing and new customers; develop business in line with margin and revenue targets.
* Expand business with current customers and identify new business opportunities.
* Organise sales visits and follow up on outstanding quotations.
* Collaborate closely with design engineers at OEM level.
* Provide practical, hands-on support in designing and testing solutions to meet customer requirements.
* Report activities and create sales forecasts via CRM systems.
* Attend trade exhibitions and leverage online platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) to generate new business leads.
* Ensure achievement of sales targets.
* Assist with trade show preparation and coverage as needed.
* Report on regional sales results (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually).
* Document and manage sales activities, including customer visits, opportunities, and account information, using Salesforce CRM.
