We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply of goods and services to support production and operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full purchasing cycle from requisition to delivery, including expediting and resolving supplier issues.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on improving quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
* Conduct market analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure best value.
* Place purchase orders in line with production schedules and planned demand.
* Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery.
* Obtain quotations for materials and services as required by internal stakeholders.
* Resolve invoice and delivery discrepancies promptly to support company cash flow.
* Produce reports and maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier files.
* Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all safety and quality procedures.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Minimum 5 years’ purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings.
* Detail-oriented, numerate, and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Team player with a flexible, proactive approach.
Desirable:
* Experience with MRP systems.
* Formal qualifications in business, supply chain, or engineering.

* Full-time, permanent position based in Kirkbymoorside.
