Production Operative - EngineeringLocation: DevizesSalary package: £30-34K DOE including shift allowanceFull-Time: PermanentOur client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer, is looking to recruit a Production Operative to join their manufacturing team.Working in a modern engineering environment, you will help manufacture precision components in small batch quantities, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and quality are maintained.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate machinery and CNC-controlled equipment within the departmentManufacture components to engineering drawings and quality specificationsCarry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment including CMM, optical and manual gaugesComplete all production documentation, works orders and quality records using the ERP systemCarry out required machine checks and basic maintenance inspections, reporting any issues to the SupervisorEnsure PPE, health & safety procedures and 5S practices are followed at all timesSupport other departments when requiredAssist with loading and editing CNC programs in line with defined work instructionsProvide clear handover information to colleagues across shifts or departmentsWork collaboratively with production teams to maintain efficient workflowWorking hoursWeekly rotating shifts:Earlies: 6.00am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6.00am to 11.00am on FridayLates: 2.30pm to 11.00pm Monday to Thursday and 11.00am to 4.00pm on FridaySkills & ExperienceA recognised engineering apprenticeship or previous experience within a precision engineering / manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of precision engineering machinery, tools and safe working practicesAbility to read and follow engineering drawings and work instructionsGood attention to detail and a methodical approach to workBasic computer / IT skillsTraining will be provided for the specific processes and equipment used within the department.Personal AttributesProactive, enthusiastic and self-motivatedAble to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and quality standardsGood communication skillsOpen to learning new processes and technologiesThis is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business offering training, development and the chance to work across multiple production departments.
