A unique opportunity has arisen to join Stirling Councilâs Waste Services. We are recruiting two Modern Apprentices who will assist in the implementation of Waste Services projects such as City Centre bin hubs, Zero Waste Scotland projects and preparing for bottle recycling scheme. Applicants will have an interest in learning about engaging with Stirling Council resident, developing communication skills, collecting & analysing data, reporting and how our procurement process works. The successful applicants will learn how to respond to waste enquiries as appropriate. This section lists the main (headline) responsibilities/accountabilities of the job.\nWorking with support and guidance, as part of the Waste Services and management teams, the Modern Apprentice will learn to contribute to projects and initiatives that\nsupport the delivery and improvement of waste services. This includes:\n⢠Assisting with the planning, coordination, and delivery of waste related projects, such as service improvements, recycling initiatives, and environmental compliance activities.\n⢠Supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting to help monitor performance and identity opportunities for efficiency and sustainability.\n⢠Working with colleagues to review processes and develop solutions that enhance service delivery within the waste services environment.\n⢠Assisting in the preparation of project documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.\n⢠Gaining an understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements and applying them appropriately to project work and service activities.\n⢠Developing communication and customer service skills to engage effectively with colleagues, partners, and the public when required. Essential Criteria:\n⢠Confident in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.\n⢠Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with good attention to detail.\n⢠Ability to work effectively as part of a team.\n⢠Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently when required.\n⢠Experience of contributing to projects or preparing and delivering presentations (e.g., in education, training, or work settings).\n\nDesirable Criteria:\n⢠Provisional or full driving licence\n⢠Basic understanding of Health and Safety principles.\n⢠Flexible and adaptable to working in both office-based and site-based environments.
