Role Description
BAE Systems has been contracted to operate and improve a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) to support the defence of a major UK Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organisation. The networks protected are primarily hosted in cloud platforms, with many systems within these environments that must be safeguarded. The customer aims to develop this SOC to be a benchmark of best practice and excellence, reflecting the significant threats faced.
This role requires a minimum of DV clearance and reports to the Service Delivery Manager.
The Role
* Ensure detection, triage, and reporting of potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities daily.
* Manage all regular reporting and ensure timely delivery of threat intelligence and vulnerability products.
* Set achievable deadlines and task work efficiently where no schedule is established.
* Identify key threat actors posing the greatest risk to the client.
* Develop and review Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and collection plans to ensure relevance.
* Maintain high standards for all Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability Reports.
* Document and review processes regularly.
* Provide well-reasoned analysis, context, and predictions in deliverables.
* Assess the maturity of client functions and identify areas for improvement.
* Oversee the personal development of team members.
* Ensure timely completion of all products during periods of reduced capacity.
Requirements
Technical Skills
* 5+ years' experience in threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or cyber threat research.
* Experience in incident response and management.
* Expertise in current and emerging threats related to government and CNI.
* Strong open-source research skills.
* Knowledge of Windows and Linux OS, command-line tools, networking, and cloud platforms.
Non-Technical Skills
* Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
* Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Team player with experience working in diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
* Self-motivated and capable of motivating others.
* Leadership and line management experience.
