Chef Manager/Chef – BW Catcher FPSO (North Sea) Location: North Sea – Mobilisation from Aberdeen Rotation: 2 weeks on / 3 weeks off (12-hour shifts) Salary: £60,979.60 per annum The Role Join Sodexo as a Chef Manager aboard the BW Catcher FPSO in the North Sea, where you’ll take on a dual role — one week as a Chef and one week as a Chef Manager. You’ll lead by example in the galley, ensuring our catering operations deliver safe, high-quality meals and excellent service for all personnel onboard. This position demands strong culinary expertise, proven leadership, and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Qualifications and Experience You should hold one of the following: City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, or NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation, or Five SCOTVEC Catering Modules plus two years’ catering management experience and a Basic Food Hygiene and Safety Certificate, or Three years’ industry-related experience and two years in catering (offshore or onshore). Mandatory offshore certifications: BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training) MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training) Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) Medical Certificate First Aid Certificate Willingness to complete Norwegian Escape Chute Training Desirable: Health & Hygiene Certificate Offshore experience (preferred but not essential) A positive attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to teamwork Key Responsibilities Catering and Service Deliver all meals on time to company and client standards. Prepare, cook, and present food to agreed specifications and portion levels. Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards in line with the Food Safety Act. Manage stock rotation and control costs to meet budget targets. Investigate and resolve customer feedback promptly. Assist with menu planning, stock management, and galley cleaning rotas. Leadership and Team Management Supervise, guide, and support galley stewards and catering staff. Ensure all team members adhere to health, safety, and hygiene requirements. Plan and coordinate daily work to maintain service quality and efficiency. Monitor conduct, performance, and training needs of catering staff. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Promote and uphold Sodexo and client safety procedures and culture. Attend HSE meetings and training as required. Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and company standards. Report all incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances promptly. Lead by example in maintaining a proactive safety culture. Equipment and Stock Management Ensure catering equipment is operated safely and maintained properly. Adhere to COSHH regulations for cleaning materials and chemicals. Oversee deliveries, stocktaking, and consumables usage. Maintain accurate records for stock rotation, maintenance, and waste management. Decision-Making and Communication Identify personal and team training needs. Report faults or issues to the relevant supervisor promptly. Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. Encourage feedback and participate in service improvement initiatives. Represent Sodexo professionally and uphold company reputation. Hygiene, Health and Safety Must hold (or obtain within three years of company induction) IOSH Managing Safely certification. Must hold one of the following Food Hygiene and Safety qualifications: Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene (RIPHH) Certificate, or Royal Environmental Health Institute for Scotland (REHIS) Intermediate Certificate, or Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) UK Certificate.
