Overview
Contentious Trust & Probate Solicitor (NQ+) | Tier 1 Team | Hybrid (Bristol) | Leading Practice
If you’re an NQ Solicitor (or have a few years experience under your belt), with a passion for private client disputes, this is an opportunity to develop your career in one of the UK’s top-ranked contentious trusts and probate teams.
You’ll be joining a department recognised in both Legal 500 and Chambers HNW as Tier 1 in the South West, working alongside nationally regarded Partners. The work is high-quality and varied, spanning will challenges, executor disputes, proprietary estoppel, 1975 Act claims, and complex trust litigation involving family dynamics and offshore structures. You’ll also collaborate with non-contentious colleagues, gaining exposure across the full spectrum of private client work.
This is a permanent role based in Bristol, with hybrid working available. You’ll spend around three days a week in the office. Despite its size, the firm is known for its collaborative and approachable culture, with growth in both revenue and headcount year-on-year and a clear strategy for strengthening its market-leading private client offering.
You’ll need strong academics, a seat or experience in contentious trusts and probate (or a clear commitment to this area), and excellent drafting and analytical skills.
In return, you’ll join a team that will invest in your technical development, strategic litigation skills, and client care approach. You’ll also benefit from a competitive package including 33+ days’ holiday, private healthcare, life assurance, health insurance, bonus scheme, cycle-to-work, season ticket loans, eye test vouchers, and more.
