This is a hands-on role within a multidisciplinary engineering team, focused on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud-native operations. You will work on high-impact projects that require DV clearance, contributing to national-level initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support secure software delivery. Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Deploy and manage containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift). Automate configuration management and system provisioning. Work in air-gapped or restricted environments with offline deployment patterns. Support operational teams in monitoring, logging, and system observability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across infrastructure, networks, and applications. Ensure compliance with MOD/NCSC security guidelines and governance policies. Essential Skills & Experience: Active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance – must be current and in use. 4 years of DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with: CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar. IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, Packer. Containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (or OpenShift). Deep knowledge of secure networking principles, firewalls, and VPNs. Experience operating in air-gapped or classified environments. Proficient in Bash, Python, or Go for automation. Version control using Git (GitLab, GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket). Desirable Skills: Familiarity with AWS/Azure cloud services in secure contexts. Experience with secure artefact repositories (e.g., Nexus, Artifactory). Monitoring tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana). Experience with Agile and DevSecOps principles. Exposure to MOD, HMG, or NCSC-compliant environments.
