About the role
Wandsworth Governor Services is a successful organization providing clerking and governance support to school governing boards. We are recruiting additional clerks to help shape and influence governance on constitutional matters, duties, and powers.
You will provide administrative and advisory support to governing boards, helping them set strategic direction, hold leadership to account, and oversee financial performance. You will work independently with support from the central team, providing professional advice, ensuring effective meetings, and taking high-quality minutes.
The work pattern is flexible; although contracts are paid for one day a week, workload varies, especially during term time and for short-notice meetings. Meetings mainly occur mid-week evenings during school terms.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience
* Experienced governance professional or relevant clerking skills with an interest in education (training provided).
* Strong interpersonal, time management, and administrative skills.
* Excellent minute-taking skills and proficiency in IT software, including Microsoft Office and databases.
