Job Summary
Physiotherapy Assistant – Full time (37.5 hrs per week). An exciting opportunity to join the Medical Rehabilitation and Frailty physiotherapy team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, specialising in the care of older people. Working under the guidance and supervision of qualified physiotherapists you will implement and progress rehabilitation programmes to optimise patient recovery within the inpatient setting.

Salary: £24,937 – £26,598 per annum plus HCAS
Contract: Permanent

Key Responsibilities
* Work with patients on a 1:1 basis, implementing and progressing rehabilitation programmes under the supervision of qualified physiotherapists.
* Carry a delegated caseload, assist in assessment and progression of treatment programmes, and use recognised outcome measures to evaluate effectiveness.
* Provide education and instruction to patients, relatives, carers and other allied health professionals.
* Maintain accurate, comprehensive clinical records in line with Trust guidance.
* Assist with discharge planning and coordination of patient care with other professionals.
* Support service development and contribute to emerging changes in therapy services.
* Attend multidisciplinary meetings, audits and training sessions as required.
* Adhere to clinical governance, risk management, and safety procedures.
* Participate in maintaining competencies through CPD and mandatory training.
* Ready to work 7‑day, including bank holidays, on a rota basis as required.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Essential
* BTEC, HND, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in relevant subject.
* Experience in health or social care setting, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Base level knowledge of conditions, clinical pathways and therapeutic interventions.
* Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work flexibly under initiative and as part of a team.
Desirable
* Relevant healthcare courses or clinical experience in a therapy rehabilitation area (assistant or equivalent).
* Experience within an NHS environment and understanding of NHS structure.
* Knowledge of local services.
* Willingness to undertake multiprofessional competency‑based skills programmes.
